“TOGETHER TOWARDS EUROPE” is the logo of the overall program that is going to be realized for the occasion of the Europe Day 2007 in Macedonia from 30th April to 9th of May 2007. The title represents the symbolism of unity, concerning the European integration process in the Republic of Macedonia. Having this in mind and in accordance with the Action Program of the European Movement Macedonia, the activities that will take place for theoccasion of the Europe Day 2007, will have the purpose:

Ø      of increasing the public awareness concerning the European values, ideals and common European future;

Ø      of expressing the original discussions of the citizens in Republic of Macedonia concerning the European integration process, i.e. mobilization of the general public in that direction;

Ø      of developing democratic dialogue regarding all questions from European integration process of accepting the values and standards of the European integration on domestic territory, as pre-condition for qualitative joining of Republic of Macedonia in EU.

 DRAFT PROGRAMME

Ø Panel discussions – will be held in 6 towns throughout Macedonia on the topic that will be adequate on the current situation between EU and the Republic of Macedonia. The Panel discussions are going to be holding with the participation of the European Movement, Delegation of the EC, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Council of Europe, respective municipality – Mayor and the Government.

Expected audience: 100-200 people in each town

 Workshops - Simultaneously, in several towns will be held workshops by JEF, titled as ”Together Towards Europe” which will be attended by 50-100 participants from each town.

 Ø Macedonian Universities Gathering (Competition in oratorical skills on a topic related to the European issues – 2 representatives from each University) – will be held at the University of South-eastern Europe in Tetovo.

 Expected audience: 500 students

 Ø European Happening - The participants will be the primary schools in Bitola (the City of Consuls), supported by the embassies of EU member countries in Macedonia. The event should provide closer contact between the young people and the EU through presenting the EU member states on an open-air festival called EUROLAND and with participation of famous musicians and singers.

 Expected audience: 10000 people

 Ø Lecture on the EU flag from the Head of the EC Delegation and its setting together with the Macedonian flag on the top of Vodno. This activity will be organized in cooperation with EM Skopje, JEF, the Mountaineering and Scout Associations.

Expected number of participants: 300 people

 Ø European Party – party with famous European DJ in some of the Skopje’s night clubs.

 Expected audience: 3000 people

 Ø International Conference in the Macedonian Parliament with participation ofdistinguished guests and speakers (representatives of diplomatic core, international and domestic experts and representatives of the parliament,).

 Draft theme for the discussion is: Together towards Europe- going forward or backward

 Expected number of participants: 80 people

 Ø Solemn Academy- Greeting of the President of the European Movement Macedonia and the Head of the Delegation of the EC

- Announcing the “European Contribution of the Year 2006”

- Announcing the best promotional video clip on the topic “Together Towards Europe”

- Special program
